Add Health Media invests 2 million in digital sleep assistance

12 Mar - 2019

Learning to sleep is the company that, with the help of a self-developed digital CBT platform, helps patients with sleep problems. Now Add Health Media goes in and supports the company with capital and marketing. Online CBT has been shown to be effective for a wide range of mental health problems, with insomnia being one of the most common. – The results that Learning to sleep has been able to present based on its method are very positive and show that the method is also cost-effective for society. It would be fantastic if we could now offer patients with more severe sleep problems the method that the National Board of Health and Welfare recommends instead of prescribing sleeping pills, states Tobias Perdahl, doctor and board member of Add Health Media. Learning to sleep has developed its own, CBT-based platform. During the treatment period, which lasts for five weeks, the patient is offered, among other things, digital meetings with a psychologist and interactive exercises specially adapted for sleep problems. The service is delivered as a complete solution in collaboration with the online doctor Medicoo, which is the first to handle patients via the platform. There is also an opportunity for other digital healthcare players to use the service and Learning to sleep already has an established collaboration with the healthcare chain Capio’s Norwegian operations. – Learning to sleep can now take the next step and increase the number of patients who receive our treatment. Thanks to the digital platform, psychologists can handle more patients at the same time as the end result is better than with traditional treatment. We can state that 94 percent of our patients get improved sleep, which is completely unique, says Micael Gustafsson, CEO of Learning to sleep. Add Health Media recently raised new capital from the Schibsted Group in order to be able to invest in additional holdings in e-health, where Learning to sleep will be the latest addition. – We see that Learning to sleep fits well into our strategy and creates synergies with other e-health companies that are included among our associated companies. It is also a clearly consumer-oriented service and we can benefit greatly from marketing through our and Schibsted’s media channels,” says Johan Bloom, founder of Add Health Media.
