Curus invests in Ment - a new smart digital service for ADHD

22 Jun - 2022

With the ambition to make everyday life easier for everyone living with or close to ADHD, Ment is currently being developed, a smart digital service that is based on the user’s unique needs and guides, coordinates and makes the right support available in time – for each individual.
Among those who have chosen to invest in Ment is Curus AB, which makes investments in digital health in the Nordic region with a focus on supporting early-stage growth companies.
Hundreds of thousands of Swedes today live with some form of neuropsychiatric disability (npf), which causes great challenges and difficulties in everyday life both for individuals with a diagnosis and many in their environment, including parents.
By offering individualized support and acting as a personal everyday coach in the mobile, Ment now aims to facilitate everyday life for this group.
The idea for Ment came from Georgios Karpathakis Jaenson.
He grew up with the feeling that everything he did was wrong.
That no one understood him, and that he didn’t fit in.
This sense of hopelessness and alienation led to disruptive school years, police reports, substance abuse and suicide attempts.
And it was only when he was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 25 that everything started to fall into place.
Today, he is a popular entrepreneur, lecturer, author and family man.
– “I have learned to cope with some of the difficulties that ADHD brings and have managed to take advantage of some of its strengths and benefits.
Nevertheless, I and many others who live with or around ADHD struggle daily to make their lives work.
And with Ment, we now want to help all these people to have a slightly easier everyday life.
I know from my own experience that support from society is often limited and that relatively small efforts can make a big difference.
Our service will be one of the pieces of the puzzle for this,” says Georgios Karpathakis Jaenson, founder and CEO of Psykisk Samhälsa i Norden AB.
Ment is based on current research, scientific methods and proven experience.
The development is currently underway and is taking place in close collaboration with, among others, experts from the Center of Neurodevelopmental Disorders at the Karolinska Institute (KIND).
A first version is expected to be ready at the turn of the year 2022/2023.
– “We think Ment is an extremely exciting service that fits well into our portfolio.
As it is based on current research, developed together with KIND and the company already has almost seventy thousand followers on social media, we see great potential for the uptake of the service to go very fast, both nationally and internationally, says Johan Bloom, founder and CEO of Curus.
